Theresa Sigillito Hollema has worked in and with global teams for over 25 years. As a cultural consultant and team facilitator, she’s helped hundreds of leaders around the world learn how to excel when working with culturally diverse teams. Previously a consultant for Trompenaars Hampden-Turner, a leading cultural consulting firm, she is a Senior Partner at NeoSeven Solutions and also leads the team at InterAct Global, a group helping organizations capitalize on cultural diversity and virtual connections. Theresa left the US for a three-month assignment 23 years ago and has lived in the Netherlands ever since.
Around seven years ago, after years of working as a cultural consultant with teams and leaders in global businesses, Theresa began to see a new trend emerging. Her clients were increasingly in teams spanning borders, and many leaders were struggling to harmonize the different cultures and working styles of technology-enabled virtual teams. So Theresa began helping clients develop the awareness, skills and confidence to successfully work remotely and across cultures. In her recently published book, Virtual Teams Across Cultures: Create Successful Teams Around the World, she combines her most valuable learnings with robust research and on-the-ground evidence to create a complete blueprint for optimizing team success.
