Dismantling Stereotypes: How to Cultivate Empathy and Inclusion via Technology

September 4, 2020 1:00 PM CEST GET TICKETS

Stereotypes exist to help us operate in a fast-paced world. They can indeed fill gaps between the information we receive while simultaneously creating a narrative that we then believe to be true, yet they also result in prejudices based on one's gender, race, ethnicity, religion, level of education, etc. Employees can feel the negative effects of stereotypes when it comes to the recruitment or promotion process as well as during the decision-making one inside the team. Sometimes employees, experiencing stereotypes and unconscious biases, see a decrease in their performance and motivation. The good thing is that it is absolutely possible to create an environment free of stereotypes and prejudice.
