Global Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer at Sodexo Ireland

As the Global Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer for the Sodexo Group, the worldwide leader in on-site services that improve Quality of Life, Margot Slattery has responsibility for the strategic direction, implementation and alignment of the Group’s integrated global diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Margot, who was born and grew up in Ireland, joined Sodexo Ireland in the early 1990s as a junior manager. She progressed through the ranks to become country president for Ireland and Northern Ireland in 2015 before moving into her present full-time global role in 2019. Under her leadership, Sodexo was one of 11 founding signatories of Ireland’s first Diversity Charter and received many other accolades for its commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace, including the Business Working Responsibly Mark from Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI).

Margot has been widely recognised for her role in supporting diversity and inclusion and women in business, for which she was made a Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, presented by the French Ambassador to Ireland. She appeared on the Financial Times’ Top 100 list of OUTstanding LGBT Business Leaders from 2015-2018 and was named FM Leader of the Year at the 2018 Facilities Management Awards for Ireland and the Business Leader Award at the 2018 WXN 25 Most Powerful Women in Ireland Awards.

Margot holds a degree in Hotel & Catering Management from Technological University Dublin, and a MSc in Management Practice from the Irish Management Institute. She also holds the Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Institute of Directors in Ireland.

Outside Sodexo, Margot is a trustee of IBEC, Ireland’s largest business lobby group, and sits on the body’s National Council. She is president of the France-Ireland Chamber of Commerce and a member of the National Competitiveness Council. She is a board member of Business in the Community Ireland. Margot has recently become a member of the newly formed Anti-Racism Committee set up by the Irish Department of Justice.

Her board memberships include the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Business in the Community Ireland, Bord ná Mona, Out and Equal Workplace Advocates, and Sofinsod Insurance DAC, among others.
